Well last week marked 16 weeks from my next competition.  The NPC Mr. Pennsylvania where I intend to compete in both the Masters and Open.  This is certainly a step up from my last conpetition.  HoweeverI am starting my precontest diet at the leanest I have ever been.  Weight is currently around 210-212 and I expect to come in at 195-196.  I am going to log it here.  Progress pics, my training and nutrition programs, vidoes, etc.  I hope you find it worthwhile.  I will post pics and more info over the weekend

In the past I have used a moderate protein/moderate carb/lower fat diet in peaking for my competition.  Though I have had a fair amount of success in the past, I have always felt that I could have been a little better come contest time.  Having not hit my peak exactly right.

I have been a big advocate of ketogenic diets in the past and followed them in the off season but was reluctant to take the “leap of faith” needed to use it during contest time.  You might end up too flat.  You need carbs to look full, etc I would telll myself.

Well last week I made that leap off the cliff and I am glad I have.  Doing alot of research I am going to be using a diet similar to what NPC bodybuilder and contest prep “guru Dave Palumbo advocates.  Moderate protein/High Fat and 1 carb meal a week.  It looks like this

Meal 1-6 Omega 3 Enriched Eggs
Meal 2-Protein Shake w/natural peanut butter
Meal 3- Chicken with 1/2 cups Almonds
Meal 4- Protein Shake w/Natural Peanut Butter
Meal 5-Steak or Salmon w/ Steamed Asparagus
Meal 6- 6 Omega 3 eggs
Last meal on Sunday will include 50g of carbs.

I started this last week and the results have been just great.  No craving, great pumps, Muscles feel full, etc.  Yes it is without variety.  But for the next 4 months it is not about taste or enjoying my food.  It is about results and putting myself in the best position to win come contest time.  I can enjoy my food when it is over.  Now it is about going into battle and being the best I can be.

Training has going great.  Have been low carbing all week.  Only carbs in the nuts and peanut butter I haved used so it is nominal and I feel great.

I am presently using Melting Point and Thermolife Dicana, as well as Basic Cuts 3 times per day.

Preworkout is Xceed, 10g BCAA, and No Limits.

Feeling very lean for being 14 weeks outSmile

Trained some arms today

still holding around 205-207.  Not looking for it to drop much at the moment.  I tended to over diet in the past.  Feel much harder and fuller on the high fat diet

The No Limits helps with the vascularity for sure

Well I broke out the video from my last show today for a little motivation.  Nothing like seeing yourself handed the over all trophy to keep ya motivated.........SmileStill have alot of time to go.  Weight is a little lower than I want at this poin so I am actually going to up my fat and maybe add in a little carbs (around 300g PWOfrom Replenish).  Don't want to peak too early.  I just want to put everything I can into this since I one of my goals was always to compete in a state level show.  Just hope to be competitive
