Coca Cola, McDonalds, Burger King, What? - Sunday, April 05, 2009 1:45 AM ( #1 )
Do any of you guys ever cheat? Ever have the family order pizza and you HAVE to eat some? Are you ever with friends and they go to a fast food restaurant and have to get a whopper?

Anyways, is coke good for ya? Small amounts? What about ginger ale?

I cheat sometimes. It depends on your goal and your body type. For me, I found out that my metabolism is relatively fast. I can afford to cheat here and there during the week.

I am more afraid of sugar than of fat when I cheat. I never drink soda, or eat cakes.

You can eat whatever you want whenever you want, just don't expect to look as good as the guy that didn't without doing the extra work that goes with these meals.  Cheating on your diet isn't always a bad thing, sometimes it can be motivating.

Are they twisting your arm and making you order that Whopper? You don't have to eat it.

Still, I realize that there are situations in which we feel compelled to cheat a bit. Everyone dose now and they, just be reasonable about your cheating.

there are always times when you feel forced to cheat, but if you really think its gonna hurt you then dont do it, if your at a burger king or w.e you could just pass up and get something later. & imo soda is the devil

Coke is pretty bad for your, if you can avoid that and eat a burger you are much better off. Although I was out dirt bike riding at the sand dunes all last week, I did have my first soda in a really long time, we had some dang good pizza and I had to have a root beer with it.  HFCS is the devil for sure, I find if I avoid all sweets I have the best results. Cleaning my diet up in another week, not a cut but I have been pretty bad the last month.

I follow the 80/20 rule.  Eat a totally clean and healthy diet 80% of the time, the other 20% you can cheat during.

I go by days.  7 days in a week, and 20% of that is 1.5-ish days.  So, I eat absolutely clean Monday - Friday (my 80% days).  Saturday and half of Sunday (my 20% days) are when I afford myself the opportunity to have a cheat meal or two.  Or drink some beers.

However, I never consume soda (or anything that contains high-fructose corn syrup).  Not even on my cheat days.  Same goes for anything with hydrogenated oils and trans fats.

if you dont cheat, you binge. i would find it an impossible balance of keeping a 100% clean diet and keeping my sanity. not so much food, cos i actually prefer clean foods, but having a drink on a weekend.

if you eat some junk every now and then ... it wont do anything to you ...

If you are cutting hard and trying to get below 7-8% bf ... then i wouldnt want to do it, as it is hard to do so as it is ... but normally having maccas or whatever every now and then aint bad for you, nor will it hurt your progress.

look at it this way, if you miss a training session every now and then (which we all do) .. is it seriously going to hurt your growth and progress ... ??? dont think so

People take body building way too seriously sometimes and the fact is, most bodybuilders aint going to make money from it ... so why deprive your self of some fun and enjoyment every now and then ,,, why train and diet like a pro athlete if you aint one?

Its just like thoes guys who bulk and put on way too much fat ... seriously why??? I am young and single ... i like to have a leanish body all year round

anyway ... RANT ENDED lol

Everyone cheats, but i always try to make it a healthier meal or snack.

For example, if im craving pizza, i'll try to make it a home made pizza. (If i can)

The hard part for me is to not drink alcohol when going out. :(

I try and go for healthier fast food if I am gonna eat it. Pita Pit is always a good choice.

I can't stand pita pit, processed chicken garbage, it is like over 7 bucks and every time I eat there, I am starving afterwords. But there is a lot less fat than say a greasy burger unless u get tons of sauce. Just wish it was bigger

Double meat is what I go with. If you get lots of veggies they are huge. They use chicken breasts at the one I go to. Look no different than the frozen chicken in bags from the grocery store. As far as fast food goes I would say it is one of the healthiest. Much fresher and much less processed than subway. Price wise, yes it is more expensive than McDonalds dollar menu...

I cheat now and them, but when you do go out, make the best choice of what they have to offer. Just about anyone by me makes great pizza, so I have 2 plain slices and a cold Bud to wash it down. For burger joints, I go for the chicken sandwich or a salad.
