centrum is just a daily multi, i take mine when i work out.

centrum silver(which is what i assume youre taking) is not the best multi available, as it is missing a lot of stuff. Try looking into some other multis

no, stop putting words in my mouth...i NEVER said that.

your vitamin might CLAIM it's a to zinc, but look at the ingredients, you are way below the %'s for what is required for someone trying to gain muscle, not just maintain a healthy lifestyle. Your multivitamin is NOT complete and it never will be if you continue using centrum. A step up is centrum performance, though that is still not the best. Do some research...it sucks to admit you bought a bogus supp, but sorry man, you did.

i would still take it first thing in the morning though...gives you some energy and gets your body ready to go.

dont be too discouraged. Centrum is still a very good multi, it just isnt formulated for those with BB in mind. Regardless it does a great job with supplementary nutrition and vitamins. I use a stock costco performance multi, and I can tell you besides the neon piss from the excess B12 and a very slight boost in energy it is all the same ****.

One thing about Centrum though is that its real cheap.  So you can up the dose by taking like 3-4 servings and I think it still ends up being a better price than other brands.
In fact, now that I think about it..........I believe vitamins are best absorbed in smaller doses.  Particularly water-soluable ones like B and C.  So you might actually get better performance by taking a Centrum 3-4 times spaced out throughout the day.
It would be interesting to see what some of the forum experts think about this.

I'm definitely not a forum expert but I completely agree with taking small doses of vitamins throughout the day - if you're able to do it.  In fact, I think the same holds true for most supplements (protein, creatine, etc) and also FOOD.
Hardcore isn't something you find inside a bottle of supplements or by reading a muscle mag.

You either are, or you're not.

I take centrum performance. It's pretty good though, just ginseng, and ginko added for energy and more b vitamins to the regular centrum.

I'd take 1 or 2 a day. Acctually I was wondering how many tablets can you safely take since you don't want to take in too much iron. I would think the best times to take it would be with food at night and in the morning to help absorbtion regardless of when your working out.

Don't think so.  I was comparing Centrum's nutrient profile next to GNC's Mega vitamin.  You have to cut the GNC dose in have to match tablet for tablet but the GNC brand still has 2-3 times the amount of nutrients that Centrum has per tablet so I don't think it would be a problem to take 2-3 centrum per day spaced apart

I don't recommend anyone take Centrum 4 times daily, you can possibly overdose on some of the ingredients, such as but not limited to...

1) Vitamin A (Acetate=2485IUs per tab=9940IUs per 4 tabs) especially if your diet is rich in liver, fish liver oils & other Vitamin A rich foods.

2) Metals such as Copper (2mgs per tab=8mgs per 4 tabs) especially if you drink water from copper pipes & other copper rich foods (i.e. nuts).

3) Iron (18mgs per tab=72mgs per 4 tabs) especially if you diet is rich in red meat & other Iron rich foods, many men (especially bbs) are discouraged from taking Iron from supplements as many get sufficient amounts from their daily diet, on the other hand it can help menstruating women at doses of around 18mgs daily.

Be healthy!
