I'm not sure exactly when this happened, but when I'm standing, I feel alot of the weight is on my heels, rather than the whole feet. When I shift forward slightly, I'm already about to fall (i.e. my heels lift) and vice versa (my toes go up). So when I'm actually doing the OH Press, I don't try to push my toso forward when the barbell goes above my forehead. Does anyone know the reason?

dunno but i sit when doing over ohp i heard it's better for ur core

I would consult a Doctor.

Your center of gravity differs from each individual depended upon things like your build but according to NASM and ACE it's most commonly known as the level of your 2nd sacral vertebrae for most people.

no standing overhead presses are significantly better for strengthening the core. it's because when standing with the resistance held over your head every muscle from the external load to your feet must contract in order to stabilize. most of the time when someone fails at pressing something overhead its because their core wasn't strong enough to stabilize..

according to mark rippetoe standing presses are the number 1 core exercise.

no, squats are just the top exercise in general.

rippetoe interview i have saved on my computer the guys asks him which is better between deadlift and squats and rippetoe said it was a stupid question because both are needed. he said that squats are better for mass development due to the kinetic chain and constant isometric tension to the stabilizers and deadlifts are better for testing overall body strength and he just loves pulling **** from the ground.

the guy also asked presses vs bench presses and rippetoe said that presses are better for the core but bench presses are better in general, or something like that. he said you should always do both because a lot of people would want to eliminate benches and keep presses and vice versa when both are flawed logic. the interview is about an hour long.

i think every exercise that you can make standing should be standing to work the core but there is nothing wrong with seated presses as long as you're doing pullups, chinups, dips, etc. just something that targets the core.

Do consult your doctor, since you are already losing your balance or try more practice until you get used to it more.
