I want to start taking Casein Protein before bed but also am looking to drop a few pounds and the calories per serving is kinda high in Muscle Milk. So i was wondering since i weigh only 138 would i be alright just taking half of the recommended serving which would still give me 16g of Casein protein or is that not enough and should i just try to cut out the calories somewhere early in my day to leave room for the extra cals in muscle milk before bed??

Well in order to do both: I think you should take in the recommended amount of protein a day. You know, some where around your body weight which will make you gain weight, yes. BUT, I suggest high heart rate cardio for losing the fatty pounds. It'll work no doubt as long as your calorie intake isn't too high either. Make sure your diet is good but just don't take in as much calories. You may not think your losing weight like you want to but you WILL be losing the weight you want to lose (Fat). As far as cardio, it has to do with your heart rate. Keep a high heart rate for about 15-20 minutes. In this time you'll be burning fat. Much past that, you start to burn muscle. You can do that once daily, I'd recommend and you'd see results fairly soon. No offense to "f" but you may know already that casein doesn't absorb into your body immediately like whey. Casein is great to take before bed, b/c it keeps your body anabolic. It doesn't just sit. Sorry for such a long explaination. I do that alot. But I hope I helped.
TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR PAIN, YOU ARE STRONGER THAN THOSE WHO HAVE NONE. 20 Years Old 178 ish lbs. 6'0

How many grams of Casein protein should i take before bed? Im taking isopure right after working out and that has 50g of protein. But im not sure how many grams of Casein to take before bed again i weigh 138lbs if that is an important factor. Also besided telling me how many grams i should be taking is there a good strategy to use when taking both Casein and Whey??

get a low carb casien. to cut some calories and make sure you dont overfill your glycogen and store fat over night. And as for you amount of Protein to take. Just take in at least 1g per pound of bodyweight.

You should get 1-1.2 grams of protein per body weight. 140lb man = 140-168 grams of protein. If you are getting 50g of protein thru isopure then that means for the rest of the day you can only get 90-118 grams of protein thru food and protein drinks. Its real easy to get that much protein thru food, so i would say only 20-25 grams of casein at night.

Make sure your diet is good before you rely on supplements to help you get stronger and lose weight.
