I have been thinking about adding in a lot of egg beaters carton egg whites raw into my protein shakes post workout. It says it's safe on the carton, but I am a bit leery. Does it taste like garbage?

They've been heat flashed (pasteurized) so it's not the same as a raw egg. Far as taste goes, you will notice some consistency differences but for most of us without chef like taste buds.. you'll be fine.

egg whites international is awesome ****. you can buy gallons of egg whites which each contain 14 dozen egg whites aka 168 egg whites. They are tasteless too so you can mix them in your shakes and not even notice like smoundz said. http://www.eggwhitesint...5&action=show_detail

I buy egg whites from bakery stores around the city. You know, these stores only use the yolk while they make their stuffs, so they are better off selling the whites after they use the yolk. Usually they sell it in bulk. I steam all of it in one go, and it looks like almond puddings. I put it into the fridge, and just eat whenever I want to. Taste like garbage. I swear I almost throw up every single night I'm eating it. It's different than if you buy eggs, steam them, and eat the whites. Tastes like sh*t

There is also more 'useable' protein in a cooked egg vs. a raw egg...

Didn't someone on this site do a price comparison between eggs from the carton and the costs from Egg Whites International?
