Carnivore - Friday, August 28, 2009 6:48 PM ( #1 )
I got some of that Carnivore protein powder. Let me just tell you, if you are looking for

A. A change
B. A fruit flavored protein shake
C. A hint of steak in your protein
D. Chunks of what seems to be meat in your shake
E. Gas that will shake the earth

Then get to your nearest retailer and buy this stuff. I bought it because they endorse Kai Green and I wanted a change. It is kinda tasty though once you get used to it.

Wouldn't that be way expensive? Sounds hard to stomache, like pet food or something but rather than formed into hard pieces it is left as a powder.  If its that good might have to check it out.

This ^^^

And it has 2.5g of creatine per serving. One scoop is a serving, and I do 2 scoops, so yeahh.

It's really tasty. I love it now. I will probably buy this instead of whey from now on.

I think it is funny how they are making it sound so much better than beef, when all they are doing is comparing a 33g serving of powder to a 33g serving of fresh beef, which also contains water and other things, so they make it sound sooooo much better than it actually is.  Not saying a beef protein isn't bad, just think their advertising is to trick the incompetent.

I could say this about any protein powder I suppose, but why not just eat regular meat?  Convenience I know.  But I looked at GNC.com.  Think it said $43 for 2 lb!!!  I get 6 lb of EAS powder for $30 at Costco.  Is this stuff THAT much better for you?

Well I get really big discounts at the local GNC cause I know everyone there. I have been shopping with them since my noob days (3 years ago) and now they have seen my progress I guess and respect me more.

I think it might be better for you, but I duno. I just really really like the taste.

If the Carnivore protein is actual protein from meat then chances are the EAS powder is actually better. Not all proteins are created equal (and a calorie simply isn't a calorie) and from my understanding whey protein is considered the best because your body absorbs more of it (and faster) to get the nutrients where they need to be as soon as possible (post workout for instance).

However, I don't think the protein is going to be that much worse then whey. I'd be willing to bet people overexagerate how big of a difference there really is between one protein and another but then again people say there is a huge difference between casein and whey for example in absorbtion rates so...

I have read all over t-nation that "complete animal protein is the best no matter what." But hey, I have researched it. I can't really believe it because Veg is doing good and he is vegetarian, but then again it does make sense. One animal eats another. Lion eats the antelope. Lion is strong as hell. I don't know. This could make for good discussion.

I'm pretty sure i've read that 25% of the nutrients from protein in meat goes straight into digestion. Then again this might be overcome with a powdered shake; I don't know.
