Hey Dudes,

I often read posts on protein and bodybuilding claiming protein intake should be about 1-1.5g of protein per day. Is this for heavy lifting or for a balance of lifting/cardio? Also, what are some good supplements you guys suggest if you are doing heavy cardio training. Right now I do cardio like 4 or 5 days a week and lift maybe 1 time a week.

1-1.5 g of protein per lb of body weight a day (that's lean body weight) is what is recommended for people who are trying to build muscle. So it can be for heavy lifting or lifting and cardio if your end goal is to build mass.

If you are doing heavy cardio training you'll want:

A good protein shake right after
Somethingl ike Cytomax during the cardio workout

Sounds to me as if you are way more cardio focused. So you can probably get away with 1g of protein per lb of body weight. And focus more on eating to maintain any muscle mass and not get to "skinny"

As far as supplements go. The above along with a very good anabolic diet should do you well.

Interesting. I had tried Aftershock by Myogenix and thought the results were pretty cool. After that point, I decided to do some experimenting.

I purchased some creatine ( I take low doses), some whey protein, glutamine, and some multi-vitamins....Which is some of the basic ingredients of Aftershock. I might try cytomax after the stuff I have runs low.

mda1125, do you or anyone else have any thoughts on Chromium Picolinate for cutting? Some guy at my work swears by it but I have not seen too much discussion on these forums about it.
