Yes I know this, I'm saying that a site was saying theres specific ones that target areas which I'm sure is untrue but I posted it because maybe he would be interested, and yeah diet will help a LOT to reveal the muscle but I know a lot of people who diet well and DON'T exercise and I have more muscle tone then they do because I actually use my muscles.

Think about those skinny girls you see who have legs that have NO TONE, sadly, in Ontario there seems to be a lot =<

Sorry, but could someone give me a definition for muscle "tone"?  Is that the same as definition which is solely from reduced body fat, no?  Or is it trying to hit the muscle from different angles, etc., to try to sculpt an individual muscle to a desired shape?  I really that's a controversial topic, whether that's really possible.  But what's the diff between tone and definition?  Thx!

Let me break this down for you using algebra.

Let me change the definition for you

X = Hypertrophy

and Hypertrophy can't be obtained without the gain of fat onto the body.

So if X = Hypertrphy + Fat Then X = Bulking

Y = Cutting

and cutting can be obtained by trying to keep your body between a catabolic and anabolic state.  Some prefer to use the keto diet to keep their body as close to an anabolic state with the good fats and compound movements.  The closer you keep your body to an anbolic state. The more muscle you will keep, while burning calories starting at your own maintenance level.

X - Y = Toning

Bulking - Cutting = Toned body.  Then as a result you get 2 entirely different shapes like rolling stone and I. Our muscles are shaped differently but were both ripped.  he a little more then I though lol.

Wow an interesting read peoples,thanks again for all the help/suggestions i really appreciate it.

Creation i did a whole bunch of hanging leg raises today and you can really feel them working!

Rollingstone im defo gona try out the 135lb ab roller idea too.

Brihead thanks for the dragon flag link and "dam" they do look kinda difficult.lol

Stackakt thanks for the advice bro.

Ibendbarbells your very right im in no way jacked im a rough stone in the making (the making is pissing me off not seeing what i wana though) its interesting to see thats what you think my BF is i'll have to find out for sure.
I will defo work MUCH harder at what im doing i went up 10lbs on the bench today and really worked the abs like crazy and my diet is steady,lots of fish and basmati rice with plenty of veg and ive cut sugar out of my diet too.

I just wanted to say that when i 1st posted this thread and said "cant never get cut" i didnt mean it like how you all bulk and then cut (in the proffesional sense) i just meant that i'd like to see more of a definition in my body and even when i worked out a few years back i couldnt achieve a 6 pack (i didnt work myself how im doing now though)

I took this photo today and tensed my abs like mad but there isnt any.haha!!

Once again folks thanks alot and one last question,if i really work hard do you think by the new year i could see some abs?

I don't really understand.. If you cut in the on season you get defined.. The reason they also looked kind of defined in the off season as well is because the most of them never go over 10 - 12% BF.  Your right about at that 12 - 13 mark.. I am just guessing.. But I know your not 10% Because I don't see the abs at all, only the obliques.  Or you just store more fat in that area..  Maybe the problem is that you think your skinny and you really don't want to cut down any weight because you think you will be scrony?  But infact your not really that thin right now, your not huge or hell of big either.  But I swear to you your going to look bigger without a shirt when your BF% is below 10.. you will look sculpted.

Your also going to notice when you cut to get defined you lose strength.  It might spike out for a min but as you cut the fat some muscle goes with it.   You sound like you want to keep bulking but you want more definition.. sorry to say that's not going to happen.

Sorry about that i just read it back and it made no sense.
When i made the thread title i just said "i cant get cut" but knew nothing of the bulking up before hand process or any of the work that involves looking how for example you do. Cut is a word i hear alot but the people who use it dont know about bodybuilding either they just hit the gym and hope for the best,i joined here hoping to find out more and i am for sure,i am a total newbie to all of this and taking it so seriously too.

In regard to the BF i only questioned your guess because i dont know how to calculate it (i just did an online estimate where i enter my statistics and it estimated me at 13.7% so you were very close)

Im one of those dudes who could so easily end up fat if i let myself go so getting my BF down to 10% sounds like the perfect goal for me to achieve.

Thanks alot for your input IBB

It is all in the diet. You have to try to minimize carb and fat intake to be able to reach low bf%. Also, try to get some more cardio in your workout and you will probably see results with time.

You're a good size man, and I know how hard it is to cut.

To be brutally honest I don't think you've got the body type to stay cut once you get down to it. Not a bad thing by any means and not impossible but for a big guy like yourself its more of a challange.  My advise is to bulk over this winter and focus on eating clean high protein and high carbs. When it gets to around March, Cut you carb and fat intake right back and compose your routine to 60% weights and 40% cardio. Should give you a nice cut for the summer with hopefully the big arms.

Thanks for the advice bro.
Yeah im pretty much thinking that you may be right about the body type issue,i look around at some of the people here and just know i'll never get that look so i'll just go for the best i can achieve and keep the fat at bay.

Ive been sick for nearly 2 weeks now and havnt hit the gym once as much as i really wana,ive been waking up and looking at myself and wanting to cry like a pussy,it takes so long to start getting a desired look and working your way up then *bam* in a couple weeks i look like crap.
Guess im just venting here so excuse me,once i get back in im going 200% in the gym thats for sure.

Just one question,im already over 200lbs so is bulking up for 5 months a good idea do ya think? I dont wana end up too pudgy ya know and thats easy for me to happen.
