Calves... again

Hey Scott, I have to say this before I start, I have probably the smallest calves ever (13'') and I'm 6'0'' so it's embarrasing for me to wear shorts.. The thing is, i've decided to dedicate my gym days to legs only, that being 2 days a week, and I have everything in order but calves, I've google'd a lot and have found lots of articles, some say it's best to work calves everyday, others once a week, others twice and so on... As for now i'm doing unweighted donkey raises and standing raises every day, from 4 to 8 sets to failure... I want to know what's your opinion on calves.. I've read in this forum to train calves like any other muscle, but I don't agree with that and so I found a few articles backing why not to train it like any other muscle, saying that calves can handle tons of stress because u work them everyday during daily activity, and that the main 3 muscles have around a 50/50 composition of fast twitch and slow twitch fibers cheers

Amigo: Calves are my favorite body part and I have been able to develop some nice shape and cuts in my calves. I work calves twice a week. Here is my plan: Seated weighted calve press 3 x 25 (one set with your feet straight, one set with your toes pointed in and one set with your toes pointed out.) 3 x 25 after each set above, I immediately do a set of standing calves reases, with my feet in the same position as the set I just completed. Each rep is slow, with a squeeze at the top. Your calves will be on fire. Start with moderate weight. As your calves develop, raise the weight. Switch the work you do sometimes. Use the leg press machine, donkey press and smith machine. Always combine your sets with the standing calve raises. If you feel strong, hold a dumbbell in one hand and balance yourself with the other as you do your standing raises. [image]local://3102/C32546A2BE7440AFAE3FC22DE0F554EE.jpg[/image]
