Cable Rows - Best handle?
-

Guys, I like doing cable rows however every time I get confused with the amount of handle choices available at my gym. There are V shaped (Narrow handles), wide handles, wide wide handles that are bent and many more. I want to start using one and stick to it. Can you guys give any insights as to which is the best one to use? I want this exercise to blast my lats.

I had been doing neutral grip row on a machine, but I want to develop the width of the lats so this morning I did cable rows using the widest bar that angles at the ends, the one you'd use for wide grip pulldowns. My hands were probably 24 inches apart. Guys is the widest bar best for developing the width of the lats when doing rows?

I've found going really wide with rows gets awkward and unnatural. I normally use a fairly close nuetral grip, and at most will use a medium grip, last time I tried a wide grip it was just strange. If you can find one of the old school standing T-bar rows, those are awesome!!!!! I'm going to build one one day.

The V handle should have you feeling it more down the center whilst the wide grip should stress on the sides more.

Different handles hit different part of the lats. Just vary between grips, and you will be fine. I also feel that wider grip tends to hit the outer lats more than closer grip.
