Bulk-up or cut!?

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and looking to kick start my training sessions with a help from some tips. I'm 17 years old, 5 foot 10 inches and weight exactly 140 lbs. No matter how much i eat or diet i'm always at 140lbs. This puts me at about 10% body fat. My question is, should i start packing muscle or just cut considering my frame? Any work out suggestions? Anything that worked for you? I also want to bring out my abs a bit more. thanks.

Hehe yeah you dont have much to work with. It seems to me you have a great metabolism. I would just work out hard and lift heavy. As for diet, eat eat and eat, but try to eat healthy rather then crap. Instead of a bag of doritos throw back a cheesebuger. get your protien intake up too. Buy a cheap store brand whey and bang a few back through out the day, and swallow one before bed as well. You got youth on your site and energry so go nuts, just fuel the machine man!!

Since when was a cheeseburger healthy? Also about the whey before bed, it would be better to have meat seeing as you have several hours to digest it, whey shakes are best kept for breakfast/pre/post workout for quick intake and digestion of protein.

bulk is always a good way to start off in weight routine. Especially if you have that physique. Try and eat clean foods steak, chicken, tuna veggies and so on. Wouldnt really reccomend cheeseburgers. It shouldnt be hard to get some ab definetion with such low body fat so just work on them and it shouldnt take long. And you can still bulk up your physique without putting on much weight

Should i increase the amount of sets for more mass? Now I'm lifting at around 80% of my max at 8-12 repetitions for 3 sets. Increase...? And what's with the whey, does it bring results quick? If so how does the body co-op with it after some time, say you stop working out, what effect does it have?

If you want to gain mass the you should be doing are 5-8 reps 4 sets. I If can do more than 4 sets of 8 comfortably id lift heavier. With the whey i wouldnt say it brings results quick but quicker than not taking it. Maybe a month of good training. Whey is just protein there wont be any side effects
