-
Sunday, May 15, 2005 7:37 AM
I was just wondering wether it is worth carrying on lifting and bulking at weekends, or wether it is better to stop and rest? Is there any disavantages to resting?

Set up a good 5 day routine then rest on the weekends, you should only have about 4-5 days of rest between a workout. And you should be bulking for at least 4-5 months, then you cut. ANd by bulk i mean eat alot of protein at least 1.0-1.5 grams per every lb that you weigh every day. weight * 1.0 - 1.5 . And when you bulk you also need carbs, but dont go pig out, i mean have bread with that chicken and tuna. My only rest day is Sunday. Also try and limit the amount of cardio you do when you bulk, and i have heard that you shouldnt be doing cardio within 8 hours of a workout. But when cutting comes around cut the carbs, and shorten your routine so you can have at least 2-3 days for cardio.

I was planning on having a 4 week bulking stage (seems as its my 1st time) and then mayb 1-2 weeks off (still doing the weights) but just not bulking. In this period i was thinking of maybe only doing 3 sessions a week (instead of 5) and do some cardio. for weight control! wat u think?
