anyone ever heard of like static training. Like doing exercise without using weights. For example, doing curls with jus yur arms, but like flexing yur entire body and doin them slowly. Also like pushing against a wall, and flexing your whole body. What benefits can this type of training give you?

Bruce Lee did train with weights Joe Lewis - "Bruce was incredibly strong for his size. He could take a 75lb barbell and from a standing position with the barbell held flush against his chest, he could slowly stick his arms out, lock them and hold the barbell there for 20 seconds, that's pretty damn tough for a guy who at the time only weighed 138lbs. I know 200lb weight lifters who can't do that." Danny Inosanto - "Bruce had tremendous strength in holding a weight out horizontally in a standing position. I know because I've seen it. He'd take a 125lb barbell and hold it straight out". Jesse Glover - "Bruce would take hold of a 70lb dumbbell with one arm and raise it to a lateral position, level to his shoulder and then he'd hold the contraction for a few seconds. Nobody else I knew could even get it up there, let it alone hold it up there".

Bruce Lee trained in Chinese Kung Fu for years and years and years. He didn't have a secret workout program you can use for 2 weeks so you can hold a barbell out for 20 seconds.

Here is a good book written by someone who had the pleasure of studying under Bruce Lee, for a short time. It is short and a quick read. It does not talk a lot about his training, it is more about the path of martial arts, but the gross exaggerations that float around the web, are absent from this book, or should I say the reality of Bruce's capabilities are some what documented. No knocking Bruce, but there are a whole host of exaggerations out there, he was an absolutely phenomenal athlete / martial artist, though., no question about that http://www.amazon.com/Zen-Martial-Arts-Joe-Hyams/dp/0553275593

^That is a very good book.
"In the wild, there is no health care. In the wild, health care is, 'Ow, I hurt my leg. I can't run. A lion eats me and I'm dead.' Well, I'm not dead. I'm the lion, you're dead."
