Broken Femur/Kneecap rehab? - Thursday, January 25, 2007 6:22 PM ( #1 )
Hello,

I broke my right femur and kneecap about 9 months ago. The bones have healed completely and my doctor has given me permission to workout again. I am still having a lot of pain in the knee and hip joints, the doctor says it’s because the muscles have been weakened so much from non-activity. I would love to go to professional rehab but have no insurance and cannot afford out of pocket costs. I’d like some advice on how to work out the muscles in the hip and leg, different exercises and techniques to get back to normal. Also if anyone knows of any other sites that would be helpful I'd like to hear about them. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

well i didn't break the bone but i did injure my left knee pretty bad. my physio therapist made me basically squat down and up with my own body weight, eventually i was able to do light weight squats and now i'm up to doing actual squats and deadlifts no problem, hope this helps.
you have to sweat to achieve your goals.
