a few days ago, my frnd who has been swimming for like 10 years hand wrestled another bbuilder who is in intermediate phase if you can say that, and the the swimmer won!! and i also remember that my cousin who used to be a farmer handwrstled a bodybuilder and won too!! so what is up with this crap.. do you think that swimmers beat bbuilders in handwrstling or that that bb dont plasy any strength workouts??

This is prolly a coincidence. No law is universal when it comes to stuff like this. However, those builders could have been overloojing their forearms....

Could be, too, that these two bodybuilders just didn't have any technique. Arm-wrestling is seldom a true measure of strength.

Theres alot that goes into an arm wrestle. I cant win one for **** because my arms are reallllllyyy long and my biceps are skinny. My 6'3" friend and me (at 5'11.75" can both hold are arms up in the air and we have the same reach, its crazy.

I can bench press 275, my buddy can bench press 165. I can military press his squat max and can curl what he rows with and he can still beat me in arm wrestling, his forearms are much more solid than mine, it's all he has on me and I can't beat him because of that.

arm wrestliing is all about technique, but when you have two guys who have no technique its usually the stronger one that wins. The world arm wrestling champion was some little japanese dude. They had an article where he arm wrestled one of the big name body builders (cant remember his name, think it was milos), and he beat him with no problem.

A powerlifter would generally be better at arm wrestling than a bodybuilder.

I have always been pretty good at arm wrestling although I haven't done it in a while. I don't think a body builder would typically be weak at this but should be better than an average untrained individual. Pretty sure you rotator cuff comes into play in this as well, with all the rtc i have been doing the past year that should put me at an intense advantage, but probably not likely. Also if you can't keep your wrist straight it is almost a guaranteed loss, so weak forearms could really make you bad at arm wrestling, but i don't think they have to be immensely strong either, some people just try to bend your forearm back to put you in a weak position, I always thought you were supposed to both keep your wrists straight though.

arm wrestling is one of the best way to get injured. You are not trained for this and 1 outta 5 times you will feel a pain in your arm, chest, shoulder or lat afterwards... This should be illegal...as for me, I never did arm wrestling in the last 5 or more years and won't start soon... This is only for people with big egos....leave that aside and concentrate on your bodybuilding instead.

After seeing the huge thread here on people with broken arms from arm wrestling, I will never do it again, even though I'm pretty good at it.
