Its been five days now since arm day. I can now straighten my arms but they are still very tight. They now feel alot better but ive had this week off the gym and im just going to start again on saturday(leg day) to give them time to fully recover.

Do you think its wise to do another arm workout as soon as friday?

Give the arms another 5-10 days to recover. Better to play it safe than risk snapping the tendon.

Massage is great for 'tight' muscles. use youre other hand, or a girlfriend/wife/mother etc, to lightly massage the bicep. Make sure you do both arms and not just the affected one.

Make sure you stretch you biceps - and while youre are it, the rest of you as well.

People who get one 'tight' muscle are prone to getting more.

Only return to arm training when its functioning 100% - strength, flexibility and range of motion.

Thank you for your help, I am going to restart my workout on saturday, with legs. Give myself more recovery time.

Do you think this was just due to working too hard too soon?

Possibly. Could be too much too fast maybe. Or you couldve just strained the muscle while you were working out.

Either way, rest and recovery is the key. All the best.

I remember the first time I really worked my calves. They ended up freaking out and I could barely walk for a week. Your best bet to avoid this from happenniing again is wait till it's completely gone before starting again, doing a stretch and doing a few warmup sets next time you work them.

Pain all gone!

Did a light arm workout yesterday, i think this has helped.

The only thing is, I found that i could not lift as much as before? Is this because i may still not be fully recovered even though the pain has gone??

I found it especially difficult to do seated dumbel curls with my left arm which is my weaker arm anyway.

good to hear the pain is gone.  If you stop working out a while your max goes down a little (or at least mine does) give it 2 or 3 more workouts and you'll probably be up to speed.

If not go ask buddha why (AKA Lynx)

This sort of thing happened to me when I was younger. I didn't really know what I was doing, and overdid it. Rest up till the pain is gone, then try incrementing up from a low weight to a heavier one workout by workout (e.g. add 2.5 pounds or whatever each workout), using higher reps (12-15). You will acclimate the muscles and tendons to doing work they are unaccustomed to and minimize the likelihood of injury. Then you can switch to whatever routine you want.
