i think the 2nd plan has better excersises, and will make you a lot stronger due to the low rep exercises (2reps) which will build strength, 6 reps or more increase muscle size so that plan will help you with both i mite use it to train myself cause i play rugby and want to bulk up more too.

most of the programs suggested do little to help you in either rugby code due to lack of endurance found in the other articles especially continuously packing scrums, mauls and running the ball in play and the general endurance required because you cant be off every 10 minutes which is what happens if u go all out strength better goinging on a 8-12 rep range and get stronger slower and have some ability to replicate in the game situations a little bit less important for forwards providing you have a good rotation going but as a back it is quite important to be able to break free and defend consistantly
