Best protein pancakes ever - Friday, July 11, 2008 9:20 AM ( #1 )
Made up a Protein Pancake recipe this morning. Best I've ever tried out of 5 recipes.

For my size stomache:

Ingredients:

-1/2 cup of oats
-1 scoop of favorite protein shake mix; I used chocolate
-2 egg whites
-1tbspn of Lowfat/Skim milk
-1 teaspoon/Packet of favorite sweetener

Directions:

1. Grind the oats in a Blender or a Coffee Grinder.
2. Mix all ingredients in a small bowl
3. Cook on greaced skillet(non-stick spray) until the entire top is dry looking and their are little holes, Or until bottom of pancake is golden brown; Flip and wait another 1 minute
4 .Enjoy with favorite topping

I want to try these unfortunately I don't have a vanilla flavor powder. Would you think chocolate works?

I have Vanilla High Protein Ensure crap thats all ready mixed with milk or agua or w/e in a bottle if you think that will work.

Your recipe failed me, I tried to make them but they were super watered down, to the point where it was impossible to make a waffle. Now I dont know what I'm going to make for breakfast :[

Try again, but use less water. If its like clay add water. If this fails again, wait for lunch.

Would you think chocolate works?

when I was a kid I tried putting chocolate syrup on my pancakes because we were all out of maple,I thought it was gonna be horrible but it actually was good, I say give it a try or try putting it in those muffin cup things and throw em' in the oven.

I tried these this morning but used chocolate whey instead of vanilla.. they were tasty but a little too dry... Adding some sliced banana on top of it solved the issue..

Of course you’ve heard it a million, trillion times… breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And I have to agree, I have never gone a day in my ENTIRE life where I missed breakfast (crazy I guess).
Having a healthy, energy packed breakfast is vital to keep away hunger pains, refuel your mind and body (in the morning your body is empty on sugar) and helps rev up your metabolism. Basically if you want to get in the best shape of your life, you NEED breakfast.
What makes up a good breakfast? It should include all the major parts, protein, complex carbs, and some healthy fats. I generally look for a 30-40% protein option. And I have just the thing… my homemade protein pancakes!
With over 15 grams of protein this is a great option, around 30 g of carbs and just a few healthy grams of mono-unstaturated fats. Even better, they take 5 minutes to fix.

Do you think i can make these with a weight gainer? Mine has just about 20g of protein per scoop and about 250cals per scoop. But it's packed with stuff like barely, oats and other fibres...

Yeah.

if your looking to put on some weight, you could also just get some whole wheat pancake mix, then mix in some protein with that. I did that for a little while over a year ago when putting on weight.

...Bulking you just made me so damn hungry! 2g of carbs per pancake...omg im in heaven.

For syrup I have tried natural applesauce. Tastes great with some vanilla/cinnamon pancakes.
