Best Way to Lose Weight Safely - Monday, August 11, 2008 4:44 PM
What is a good diet to do.  I need to lose 12 lbs of fat.  Then ill be at 8% BF.  What is a reliable way to do it without starving.  Im eating a lot less and drinking a lot of water.

To have a diet consisting of lean proteins, complex/starchy carbs and fibrous carbs. Find out what your maintenance calories are and reduce that by 500 and thats about where you want to be to cut that unwanted fat.

Eating less is what you are going to want to do and water is great. But make sure you are getting what your body needs and make sure its quite often. Make sure to eat every 3-4 hours.

i agree with speedy.  it may sound counterintuitive, but there are ways of "eating less" by "eating more."  remember, your diet should always be about calories when you're cutting.

think about it this way: a pound of meat has more calories than a pound of lettuce (sorry for stating the obvious).  however, the sheer volume of a pound of lettuce is much more significant than a pound of meat.  im not saying to give up meat or to adopt a salad only diet, as this would be counterproductive; im just trying to put things in a little perspective.

you should eat more often (every two hours)...and you can eat more clean foods like veggies and ground turkey / other lean meats.  watch your portions, though.

Less starchy carbs, more whole grains and lots of vegetables. Basically, replace the carbs you would have been getting from bread with carbs from vegetables instead. There is more nutrition in vegetables and they will aid in your digestion.

Be sure to eat clean foods such as vegtables, chicken breast, nuts and oatmeal. Also it would be in your best intrest to try cardio on top of your weight lifting rountine. Somthing like HIIT would be helpful.
