Best Time of Day to workout?
-

When is the best time of day to lift weights? By best I don't mean easiest, I mean muscle mass wise most effective. I mostly workout at night bout an hour before bed. Is this good? or are there better more effective times to be lifting?
Bench: 70 Squat 135 Deadlift: 1??s Supps: Creatine, Multi, Fish Oils Jones's Log

The best time is when it suits your needs. When you feel it the most. edit : If you like to workout at night before bed...then do it...if you prefer noon, do it... If I said it was betetr to workout in the morning but you like to sleep late, would you change your habits just because it's been said somewhere it is better ?? I would not. I train when I like it the most, 2h after dinner. (it's my habit, find yours)

As long as you do it. I do some at 12 noon, 7am, 1am, 3am, 9am, 7pm, 10pm. Just get it done. You can't go back and do a day you "missed"

technically the best time to workout out is around 1.5-2 hours after waking up as its the time where your natural test levels are highest

I read somewhere that world records are more likely to be broken during the evening, where your body temperature is at the highest.

I workout mostly in the evening time as well. 1. Gym is not crowded 2. Energy is at the highest (well for me) 3. Help me sleep easier (3 hours afterward).

I train...that's enough for me. If you really have time to change your scheducle because you have 1ppm more testosterone in your body at 8h37 in the morning, then do it ! The main thing we forget here is that training is already hard enough, why should we add more stress by finding the exact milisecond where it's best...

I personally can't as i'm to tired and can't concentrate effectivly

I read that its better to workout at night. and test prove it, they took like 10 guys made them do all the same workouts but 5 of them worked out in the mornings and 5 of them worked out at night.............. the 5 that worked out at night had the best results, But there wasnt that much in a difference from night and morning, so its whatever fits your schedule.

LOL. They did a study with 10 people? Ok did they take these into account: genetics, diet, experience, form, sleep, supplements? But I do agree that the difference is minor enough it really doesn't matter.

I was just summarizing the study. it was in a muscle and fitness mag i think....... i would look for it, but i have like 25 M&F mags and i dont want to look thru all those pages to find it.

Bang on the money On top of all this .... its about working out and doing it consistently the basics are always going to be .... Train hard and like you mean it ... keep it to 45 min to an hour ... get a good night sleep .. and eat well ....
