Best Tasting Whole Wheat Pasta - Saturday, February 28, 2009 4:43 PM ( #1 )
I got this stuff at walmart.  Heartlands 100% whole wheat spaghetti, all natural.  ANyways says it is made from 100% whole wheat durm.

Well the point is this stuff tastes amazing, when I bought it a friend saw me at the store and was ragging on whole wheat pasta in general.  This is by far the best i have had, I didn't even need sauce, just put a little olive oil on it, and had it with some chicken and broccoli.  It was a very tasty meal.

Yep, this is good stuff. The GF did some kind of chicken dish with this. Forgot what she called it but low fat, high protein and tasted great.

Yes it is. I have tried the brand Seoinage is talking about and its good stuff. Seems a little heartier than some of the others.

Personally, I would say its taste has to be acquired. I just cooked some Heartland's whole wheat pasta this weekend after going a whole week on white pasta. I thought it was a bit funny tasting, but I also find healthy stuff to be gross after binging off of delicious useless carbs.

This is a good time to bring up a question of mine. When eating pasta or bread, is there a time limit you have to burn off the carbs you ingest before it turns to fat? Can I eat pasta at 9:00pm, then wake up the next morning and burn that particular bowl of pasta off?

That would really depend on a lot of different factors. Glycogen levels, how much energy will you use during sleep, how many calories you ate that day, what else you consumed with that pasta/bread.....ect
