Best Creatine? - Sunday, June 14, 2009 9:03 PM ( #1 )
Does anyone have some tips on the best creatine or other pre and post workout supps?  Monohydrate doesnt react well for me.  Ester and krealkalyn seem to work ok.  I'm just looking for something that's cheap and gets great size.  Any thoughts?

If mono don't work for you, you may not be using it right, or in the right amounts.  The other options are ale BS in my opinion, and take that for what you will.  They may be easier on the stomach, but the gains are not better, and the price will lean out your wallet much quicker than mono.  You may have just had a bad monohydrate in the past.  They are certainly shady supp companies out there, so buyer beware.

Micronized creatine should work if mono doesn't.

Does anyone have good experiences with Dark Matter?  I've heard good things.

MHP Dark Matter is just another supplement company utilizing marketing ploys and fancy labels to draw you into believing that their supplement works better than the basic fundamental supplements such as straight up micronized mono. Therefore, don't buy it unless you have to dig in your pocket to find your wallet.(Think metaphorically)

To the OP, I've tried most of the creatine supplements on the market from CEE, to CEM, to regular mono, to micronized and kre-alkalyn. I will say that the best out of all of the is micronized mono. It rendered the best results and did not have any noticeable or if any actual negative side effects.

I will say that Kre-alkalyn, of which I still have and haven't used in a long time, would come in a close second. Reason being, it's much easier to take(capsule form), and it does provide results that will come to your liking. However, dollar for dollar, and going through the stages of measuring out the powder, funneling it into a water bottle, then downing it(micronized mono), I would say it's worth the trouble and you should get micronized mono.

Also, key element with creatine: When on it, you need to drink an immense amount of agua. What I used to do, to ensure total hydration, get or buy a gallon of water, and drink 2 a day. You'd be surprised how easy it is, and then you're set.
Current Supplements: Multi, Whey, Caffeine, BCAA, Vitamin C, Calcium
Current Cycle: Strength

Thanks for your advice.  What's a good cheap micronized brand?  One that would be available at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe.  Also, have you (or anyone else) heard of Cellucor?  They make a Krealkalyn called M5 that is pretty expensive but it seems to work (could be placebo effect).  ALSO, ive been taking it only on days when I workout b/c it's so expensive.  Does that **** up the cycle? or is taking it everyday just a ploy to make people use more creatine?

AST Micronized Creatine is exactly what I took, however, any reputable company's micronized mono will work just fine. (Dymatize, Optimum Nutrition, or even the generics from Vitamin Shoppe.) When looking at the nutrient profiles, ensure it reads Creatine Mono 5g, and nothing else. No additives.

As for the Kre-Alk, I have Sci-Fit 1500. To my knowledge, they were one of if not the first company to introduce it to the market. It's the cheapest one i've researched, and the only one Ive taken and it does work. However, I will reiterate, get the micronized mono first, and see what happens. If it fails to work, then test the other waters.
