Benching Went up 25 pounds in less then a month. - Wednesday, August 20, 2008 5:30 PM
I just realized, When i got back from vacation on the 22 last month i only benched 115. I did 140 about a week ago. Is that good progress wise? Seems really good to me.

It means that when you first start working out,or come back from a layoff without working out,it is not uncommon to have quick gains in strength and muscle gains.

i thought you were the one who benched like 225 at a really low weight? and yes thats good but don't expect it to happen much at all.

I skipped a few leg days, but other than that, all our lifts are pretty similar. Your squat is higher than mine (as a result from skipping), but my DL is higher, haha.

I envy you. My bench has basically stayed at 165x5 for the past 2 months since I started.  Though my deadlift goes up 10 pounds every week :D

170 seems reachable i personally don't like to set goals i would just rather train as well as possible and see where it takes me.

Nah I think you need to set goals. Set long term goals, and then short term goals to reach along the way. Gives you something to strive for, and a way to track your progress.

wow.. thats pretty good
I started benching 2 weeks ago at only 85 lbs 4 reps..embarasing.. but the next week I benched 95lbs 10 times just after 1 workout..
Now in just 2 weeks I am benching 115lbs from 85lbs but I struggle doing 115lbs

You guys think for I should do around 4-5 reps to gain massive strength since i am a beginner at benching. i just wokred my arms and back for a year and now i started becnhing.
