Bench/Squat Weight - Monday, October 22, 2007 4:51 PM ( #1 )

Hey guys. Just wana find out if you guys add the weight of the barbell when benching or doing squats. I use the Olympic bar for both bench and squats. I was told that the Olympic bar weighs in at around 20KG/44lbs,That is significant when doing these exercises. I add mine to my total weight added on the barbell,Is this wrong ?

Yes, the weight of the bar counts. And it's worth weighing your bar to see how much it actually weighs. They're supposed to be 45 pounds, but mine is only 40.
