Beginner seeking constructive criticism - Friday, August 01, 2008 10:19 PM ( #1 )
Hey guys,  I would like to have your Sage advice and critique about my
physique, (if you can call it that).
I have worked out with weights since January of this year.  But only got
serious about it since the end of June.  Since the end of June, I have been
working on developing a good training routine, (it is in the "critique my
training" forum).
Here's how I see it.  I need to lose more body fat, and only then do I
need to bulk. what do you all say?  This is just how I see it, and thats why
I am asking you guys.
Any advice is welcome.

Now, a couple of specific questions concerning physique. . .

1.   I read an article about symmetry.  The author said that anything that
worked the obliques, (or was it lateral obliques. . .) should be avoided.
The article stated that working the obliques would give a person a 'barrel'
stomach, totally destroying the V-Taper.  The theory sounds right, but what
do you great people of DBB say?  What is the truth?

2.   How do you balance out symmetry?  Maybe you'll notice from the pics, (if
not, trust me, its there), but my right arm is more defined than my left.
The bicep has better peak, the (lateral head?) of the tricep is much more
visible than my left, and even the muscles in my forearm are more defined
when I flex than they are on my left.  What can I do?
Everywhere on DBB people say to use dumbbells to even it out. But I only
use and own dumbbells, (see "critique my training" for my thread on that).  I
start with the left, and only let the right do what the left can do, and I've
tried it vice versa too. Are my genetics cursed, and my left can't attain
what my right can?  I read somewhere that one of Arnold's biceps never peaked like the other, they said it was due to genetics.  Any ideas?
*thought*  Would it be that my form with the left does not match that of the
right, and hence, my right reaps better and faster benefits than my left?

Anyways,
Thanks.
Oh, and maybe someone could give me a body fat % estimate?  I'd like atleast
a ballpark figure. . .

Here is another one.  I know I don't have any muscle definition to be particularly showing off, but I think the pose is really cool.

Why am I wet?  I am located in Mexico.  My room was the only place to take the pictures, and it was about 97-100 farenheit.

BULK.

As to your questions about symatry... Don't worry about that so much until you have a significant base of muscle to play with.

Stick to basic compound exercises, eat enough food to add muscle, add mass, then reevaluate.

Ok.  C'est La Vie.  It looks like I'll be bulking in the near future.  As soon as I read up on bulking, ( currently reading Danmirage's threads) I will hit it.

Thanks all.
