Becoming Ripped - Sunday, October 14, 2007 12:40 PM ( #1 )
Hey everyone.  I've just recently become interested in bodybuilding, so I'm learning about all the exercises.  I'm 16, 6'1", and around 180lbs.  At home I have a Weider 740 home gym, and a free spirit weight bench with 100lbs of weight.  I'm hoping gain some muscle in my chest and arms.

Is there any suppliments you guys would recommend?  Any specific exercises, or a weekly exercise plan.

Thanks.

the ulitimate supp would have to whey protien, you have got to get some if you don't already
If you want to gain some muscle the "gain mass" thread posted by danmirage  is a must read.  start from there and explore the site  a little.  good luck with your goals

A friend of mine recommended I get Muscle Milk instead of why protein.  What's the difference?   What would you guys recommend?

muscle milk is mainly casein protein. A slower digesting protein and mainly supplemented to people who are ectomorphs, or hard gainers. If you can eat everything, and gain nothing then you fall into this category, and therefore you can get MM. However, whey is a fast digesting protein which is optimal for muscle growth; especially if you take it as soon as you wake up, and right after lifting. What I did before was fall victim to the brand label proteins are the best, however, now I know that whey is whey no matter what the label. Buy the generic brand, and you'll be set. Take the whey after workouts, and if you buy MM, take it before you go to sleep.

I suggest starting your mass routine first before getting into proteins and all. You won't be missing out on a lot if you don't drink proteins, just keep eating right. When you get to a certain point where you feel a need for a protein then you should start drinking, them not at the beginning.
Its not what you know, its what you can do that counts!
