Bananas vs. Green beans - Saturday, June 21, 2008 10:35 PM
OK, I just heard that green beans have more potassium than bananas do. Unless you have a banana tree in your yard and can get them ripe. Myself I can eat a good pound of bananas without trouble, but try to get me to down 1/4 lbs of green beans...nah!
Anyone heard this?

eh i dunno I looked some info up and apparently...

banana is a high potassium food, obviously...

and green beans scored a whopping low sodium title, which is constituted by less than 125mg a serving.

banana is at above 225mg a serving.

good thing i like both :)

They appear to be about the same for 1/2 cup green beans and 1 medium banana, 300mg or more in each.

I didnt see green beans on the list...

saw beans

saw greens

but no green beans. Is there any way of knowing if they would be classified under one of those? the chart I looked up had green beans separate from beans and other "green" veggies.

Good finds. But which would you rather eat, say twice a day or more?

A banana would be easier for most people to eat especially more than 2+ times a day.

but I dont think I could just pick one, I would alternate since I enjoy them equally.

peanut butter banana sandwiches rock

but so do green beans + fish/chicken/eggs

So this thread isn't about which one would win in a fight?
