Back problem
-
Tuesday, May 16, 2006 9:27 AM
Hey fellas. A friend of mine I think popped the disc in his back. Trying to remember, but I think its been about a month since it happened. I know that probably no one here is a doctor, but I was just wondering if this has ever happened to you or if this has happened to someone you know, and how long did it take for you or them to get back to 100% with that injury and be able to lift weights?

It depends on the severity of the problem and many other factors. He really needs to see a doctor.

Hey man, Actually yes. You may suggest to him to have a doctor check it out. I did the same thing in the gym and went several months thinking pain would go away. It turned out to be a herniated disk. My back never hurt but had problems in my legs. Was painful to sit. Hope this may help. By the way, I had surgery and it relieved the pain, however, I cant lift the way I use to.

I started working out around November till Feburary. I think being a first timer, I didn't know how the proper techniques, so I damaged my back a bit. I stopped, and went to the doctors, he just made me do a few sort of stretches, and I could perform them easily. He just said to take some paracematol tablets for 10 days and if my back didn't heal up, to come back and get an x-ray. Well I still haven't, but a few days ago, I decided to and so I'm getting my x-ray done tomorrow. I really hope there is nothing wrong, but I'm worried cause when i cough, i can feel more pain. What do you guys think?
