Definitely could, most back pains are due to lack of hamstring flexibility. The thing that always works for me, and I highly reccomend you do this (along with some hamstring stretches a few times a day) is some reverse hypers. If you don't have access to a machine then just lie on your bed or something that is elevated and you can grip onto somehow. Let your waist down dangle off the bed and raise your legs to full extension and let them back down. Basically so you are doing this movement: Reverse Hyper I swear that will cure any lower back injury

Stiffness is completely normal after dead lifting and the day or two after, as long as it is not painful you are fine. Soreness and stiffness=good. Sharp pains/excruciating pain=bad.

Yeah they arent sharp pains. It is very dull, it actually feels pumped. Again i havent really ever done deadlifts, so that explains the new feeling! EDIT: Just did this excercise. Wow, it worked. Thanks a ton man!
