I've come across three options.

Take you pick:

Everything's better with...

a.  Bacon

b.  Cheese, or

c.  Weed.

Hope that helps.  ;)

Srsly, what does it taste like exactly?

If it is unflavored of course it tastes horrible, as does unflavored creatine. Mix it with some juice. It still won't taste great but you are not taking it for the taste :).

it's so bitter you feel your tong is gonna fall off your mouth. HORRIBLE

I'd take unflavored creatine anyday, it isn't that bad.

Do not buy unflavored BCAA powder people. I kill you

yeah that's what i've been doing, buying every type of fruit juice and trying them all out, if i ever find a kind that makes it tasted as bad as creatine i will cry...

This is going to sound really strange... but I kinda liked unflavored BCAA powder. The one I would get is kinda like beads, I would throw them in my shake and actively mush them up against the roof of my mouth, for the bitterness.

Hardway if it tastes like mine that's insane.  Mine tastes like burnt hair.  It is so awful.  I would advice you gottabefit to buy them encapsulated from now on, I know I won't ever buy in powder form again, or buy some capsules and fill them yourself.  My BCAA will not mix with anything, they always float and don't dissolve in anything.

If I really want to take it the best way is with water, and lots of it to wash it down, no matter what you mix it with it will destroy the flavor of it. it ruins protein shakes, juice, or anything you can think of.  So you just have to suffer, or get it encapsulated or try a different brand if they aren't all awful.

" they always float and don't dissolve in anything. "

word.. it doesn't mix with anything, not even using a blender.

I've found that Orange-carot-lemon juices kind of camouflages at first... but whatever you take it with, it will always be bitter.

@ Hardway -----> that is wack

On the good side... you can use BCAA powder instead of your morning coffee.. you may not enjoy it as much but damn it'll wake you up

If you want powder that doesn't taste like **** than I would recommend Xtend. I like it in grape. Not that many servings per container but it does taste good. Like Seionage said, get capsules. I like ON for caps.

I find that it mixes all right (though, yeah, not completely) if you shake the hell out of it for a minute or two.

MRM makes a lemonade flavored BCAA+G that tastes a bit better, but it's still pretty bad.  Fairly cheap, though.  I have some Xtend and it tastes fine (blue raspberry), but 1/4 of it is not BCAA, but glutamine and citrulline malate.  Purple Wraath is another decent-tasting amino acid product, but like Xtend, it contains a lot of non-BCAA stuff.

These products are fairly expensive, though.  What I've been doing is mixing Purple Wraath and Xtend with the bad-tasting crap to make the expensive stuff last as long as possible.

Something you could consider doing if you want to stick with your current product is to mix it with only a small amount of water and drink it like a shot.  Tastes awful, but goes down fast.  And some people eat it by the spoonfull and then chase it with water.  Hardcore.

This is what I have found works best, tried both, and both suck but better than wrecking an entire shake, one big painful suffer rather than a long drawn out suffering of drinking something bigger.

Has anyone tried to see if it will dissolve in oil?  I thought about trying to mix it with a little oil first then put it in something, if you could stop it from being such a powder it would solve some problems.  Might have to really mash it into some oil for it to mix.

But some people do sip on a BCAA drink throughout their workouts.  In that case, you kind of just have to find the least disgusting product you can afford and get used to the taste.  Or mix it with juice or something.

I take 5g in my postworkout protein shake, and I think it tastes fine.  Especially with dextrose, it's so sweet I can barely even taste it.

I don't see why it'd mix in oil any better than liquid.  Just try shaking it vigorously for a good 1-2 minutes.

mix it in with your creatine/carbs or your Protein shake.

Learn from this and buy capsule BCAA's from now on.

I opened a capsule to see what it tasted like one time...never again.

lol dayum.  The money you save from buying powder is definitely worth the taste.  I used to take a big sip before my sets to pump me up haha.

I thought the caps were a lot more expensive too, but I'm looking at AST BCAA 4500, and it's pretty damn cheap...!

You just have to find the right place, so shop around and you can find some pretty good prices on capsule BCAA's

That's awesome cos these capsules are just as cheap as or cheaper than than any of the flavored powders I've been using.  I can still get the pure stuff for less, so I'll probably keep a stock of that for postworkout shakes.  But I'm very happy you got me to re-check capsule prices, just in time for an order too.

edit:

You know, these other things in products like Purple Wraath, for example... niacin, vit B6, potassium citrate, beta alanine, citrulline mallate, betaine anhydrous, ginger, L-norvaline... Is any of this crap even worth consuming?

Beta alanine might do something for you, but most companies don't say how much of anything is in there, so getting trace amounts of a bunch of crap really won't be beneficial.  You can buy beta alanine in bulk for dirt cheap though.
