I can't find any information which suggests the average dimensions for a teenage male (13-18). All the studies and data tend to be between 20-50 years old and I think this is an unfair correlation as naturally teenagers are more slimlined and less developed. I want to know chest dimensions, bicep circumference etc and it would be useful if someone knows a study which has looked at the average body dimensions of a teenager
PS (I don't want an average of already existing athletes/bodybuilders as this would inflate the average a bit don't you think?)
My arms are about 12 inches (with no training in 3 days, flexed) and I haven't yet measured everything out.
I'm about 5'6, I weigh 60kg (and somehow I'm underweight?) So I don't know whats going on as I don't have a study to compare my progress with. Thanks

Mainly because teenagers are still growing.
When i was 13-14 i was 5ft at about 80-90lbs, when i was 15 i was 5'10" at 130lbs. Im now 18 at 6'1" 150lbs.
Also, when i was 13-14 many guys around me where 6ft odd at 200lbs odd, the average would be a false representation.
from what i know the average bicep size for a grown man is 12-13 inches.
Average chest size for a grown man is 38 inches, teenager, probably 34-36 inches.

Wow that made me feel better about my little 13 inch bicep. I didn't know an average males bicep was that small...

one of the harder things for me to do when i first started lifting was to put ego aside and not worry about how i compared to others. makes lifting more fun doncha know.

while i agree deweydog, there is one thing that has kind of upset me.
My biceps are 12 1/2", they used to be 15", weirdly ive lost minimal strength from them though, which cheered me up lol.

34 inch bicep? thats either a typo or youre just stupid lol.
A 35 inch bicep would be insane, the mere size of it would make movement impossible unless you were a lot taller than 6'5"
HEARTS, what im trying to say is.
Some boys aged 13-14 are 5ft at 90lbs like me
Some boys aged 13-14 can get as big as 6'6" and 250lbs odd.
Both are extreme ends of the scale, so an average teenager is hard to find, especially as its only a matter of time until that little one becomes average/above average in maybe a matter of months, it makes it difficult making a true average
Its like trying to calculate the average population of a species of bird when theyre emmigrating all the time, the numbers start to become innacurate as the numbers change, full grown men however, do not change much, usually weight gain is with fat, not muscle, as a guy who doesnt weightlift, hence average.
The numbers dont change as much so the average remains quite stable, however, maturity through ages range extremely within todays generations, as a result, working a true average teenage size is difficult.

Even at 24" he is still big enough to be a pro bodybuilder with them arms, but at 14 he is pathetically small, considering he's 6'5".
I think he may have been joking us, not too sure.

That's why they have the average for teen boys that are 5 ft tall 5 1/2 ft tall and the average for teen boys that are 6 ft tall.
