Aspartame is safe, food safety agencies say - Monday, April 23, 2007 7:34 PM ( #1 )
Both the FDA and the European Food Safety Authority have reviewed aspartame studies and deemed it safe for consumption. Equal and NutraSweet are popular aspartame brands.  Yahoo!/Associated Press (4/20)

Personal Note:  I'm sure the scare websites all over will never agree to this and think it's just another cover-up!

FDA reviews Italian aspartame study

The FDA has completed its review of a study conducted by the European Ramazzini Foundation (ERF) on the carcinogenicity of aspartame, and has determined that it does not support ERF's conclusion that aspartame is a carcinogen. FDA also says that the study data do not provide evidence to alter the agency's conclusion that the use of aspartame is safe.
