its not bad, most guys who spend a just a few years in the gym can get 16-17 arms naturally, depending on training/diet/genetics. Im not one to care about arm size personally, but its always fun to know what average is.

I wonder where they got these stats... there is nooooo way that is possible unless that same 19.7 percent body fat male is quite fairly aerobically trained... unlikely *mile and a half

MuscleMac91 great! thanks for the info, hmm if average adult male has 13 inch arms at 5'9 then.. maybe 14.5 for my height is sort of good I wouldn't worry too much about meeting norms/standards. They're usually inaccurate and irrelevant. Just use the specificity principle and train to look the way you want.

that's not bad.. when I had just started working out I just wanted 14 inch arms.. I thought 15 inch arms were big and 16 were huge.. I said I would be happy with just 15 inch arms lol.. Now almost 3 years later I am not happy with 16 inch arms and have been slightly under 17 before. Just keep hitting it.

Man 16 inch arms are HUGE, judging from your picture/avatar, your huge!!! id love to have those. Thats my goal a year from now, add an inch and a half to my arms in a year, from what i'm told, it's possible if i train hard. I appreciate all your guy's help/input!!!

When I played football I could have done it easy.

Yeah, it's pretty tough. Plus it says the average man, which isn't trained. I had applied fitness assessments and developments this last semester and we did field tests using the 1.5 mile norms... Nearly everyone fell into the poor category. And these are people in the Wellness Science department! 1 mile in 8 is pretty easy, but the last two quarters are pretty killer. I was in the high 11's and at that time I was running about 4 miles a week.

I'm 6'3 and have 17 1/2 when flexed and 16 1/2 unflexed. You'll get big soon enough :)

I've seen a bunch of guys in the army who were over 20% bf who could run a mile and a half under 12 minutes, even 2 miles in under 16 minutes. An eight minute mile really isent that fast. Now if their just your average 20 % bf fat person who just sits on their rear then no, they wont be able to run 1.5 miles in 12 minutes. Dont think just because some one is over weight that they cant run.
