Are PWO carbs only for post-lifting, or for post-cardio as well?

What If i go on a long, strenuous 5 mile run? do I need post workout carbs then too, or is it only to fuel damaged/worked out muscles? I imagine you dont use TOO much muscle while running, its more of a whole body thing.

Damaged muscle tissue is repaired by protein.

During running, you use glycogen or fat as your source of energy, which one you use is depended upon your calories.

I go complex carbohydrates pre-workout, simple carbohydrates post-workout, simple carbs (banana) for insulin levels and complex carbohydrates for a longer energy expansion for an overall more effective workout.

It's really hard and almost impossible to avoid carbs completely, they're in almost every single thing that you eat.

What I did today after waking up was I ate 2 oranges. Then I went on a 3-4 mile run. Then I chugged a protein shake with tons of sugar/dextrose dumped in it. An hour later, Im now eating eggs with spinach, which I will continue to do for the rest of the day. Only fats, proteins, and veggies. I usually dont touch complex carbs except for refeed days (minus veggies), and I only eat simple carbs pre and post workout.

But my question wasnt answered. So protein +simple carbs after RUNNING too, as opposed to working out?
