Just wondering if anyone here has tried out the Platinum Home Gym. Just wondering if anyone has tried this machine or would recommend against buying it. I know most people would say invest the $$ in a gym membership so here's my justification for not doing it. 1) I've got a great routine from "The Action Hero Body" that I've been using a combination of free-weights and Bowflex for about 2 years. I've maxed out on a several Bowflex exercises now and need more. Check out my before and after pictures here. 2) We have a newborn baby boy at home and I want to be there with him. Since my workouts already last an hour 4 days a week I really can't add more travel time. Plus, letting him see me exercise sets a good example.

hey, if the weider platinum plus is the one i'm thinking of with the electronic buttons to up the weight i'm gonna warn you not to get it. my lil bro had it. it only took about 4 hours to put it together but it crapped out after a month and we had to exchange it, then the second one, the console didnt even work. i would say stick with the bowflex, or go freeweights always the best.

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking. I like it cuz you can adjust the weight in small increments. But, like you said, it's got a lot of bad feedback for having bad mechanics so I'm gonna take your advice and stay away from it. Gotta find something else...I guess I'll just add an extra set or so to by Bowflex routine until then.
