Any ways to get the desired six pack abs!!! - Wednesday, July 02, 2008 12:50 AM
Hello everybody, I have been watching guys on TV and some my friend have it too…know what…the six pack abs!!! It feels awesome to bear that look and it really gives me the chills to be like them. But, I am not sure whether I can make them or no. I have not consulted my friends about this (cause they always pride themselves about this...and I’m shy to ask). I do have a little weight on but I can manage to cut that down. So, do you people have any options that I can try to make things happen???

Any help will be highly appreciated!!!

having abs show is 99% diet.  You simply need to find out what your daily caloric needs are are slowly start cutting back. A good starting point would be about -200 cals but try not to exceed -500cals.   Go to the diet and nutrition section of this site and do a little research.. Tons of valuable information from members here with genuine first hand experience.

I would do some type of ab training 2-3 times weekly, but don't get carried away.. simply pick 2-3 exercises and do 2-3 sets of higher reps, (15-20) each training day.

Don't get discoraged.  If you're not sure what your BF% is, it's probably more than you think and getting abs to show up can sometimes be a difficult task depending on how you carry your weight. But the good news is, with proper diet and exercise, anyone can have abs.. Goodluck
There is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing

everyone has abdominal muscles.  even severly OBESE fat people have a 6 pack of abs.   you know where it is??? buried under lots and lots of fat.

if you would like to get your 6 pack abs to be visible, the key here is a clean diet like smoundz mentioned, and LOWERING your body fat.   (lowering your bf is done by clean diet and minimizing calories taken in)

cardio isn't necessary, but it does speed up the process of lowering the BF%

lots and lots of ab work really won't get you the results you want, UNLESS you lower your bf%.   ab-work just targets the abs, and might make them a bit bigger.   but NOT visible.

you've got a 6 pack buddy...   but like i said, the key is to lower your body fat.

Same here, mate. I too felt the same thing when watching the guys showing their stomach (I used this term when I used to get angry for not having these) but now I would use the word “six pack abs” to define that as I too have them now. It’s not a tough call to get them but you need to do it the right way. There are many techniques or advices that may sound good…but the big thing is do they really work??? In most cases “NO”…what I used was a great program of six pack abs exercises that finally worked.

doing ab exercises will not get them to show, your diet will.  And your post sounds very fishy is its you first post and you are advertising something...
