Hey guys This is for men in particular, especially those who weight train and do cardio to stay fit. I am a gym member and do my cardio in addition to weight training at the gym but there are days I can't get there because of winter weather, no time, etc. I am in the process of losing some fat and getting leaner (still muscular, just a tad belly) and I want to know if there are other men who do cardio at home? I also don't have transportation except by bus and my gym is far and on snowy days, it's hard getting there, but I can improvise and do my cardio at home. Please tell me there are actual men who do cardio at home. I know Jumping rope would not be so intimidating, but the step aerobics (I tried and liked it) is a bit feminine (for lack of a better word) but who cares right? Any men do step aerobics or who dare admit it? LOOOL I have pretty much made up my mind about jumping rope and step, but want to see if anyone other men have experience with doing their cardio at home. Thanks Chris

Yea, I took step aerobics at college, it was fun, got to listin to music, and was easy credits, not to mention a good view if you do em from the back of the room, considering thier were only 2 other guys in the class besides me

Step aerobics, if you get the right workout, is great for men or women. The Reebok series will kick your butt. Step aerobics is probably my favorite form of cardio. I have a Reebok step and most of the videos for Step Reebok. It was my first serious step aerobics workout back in the day (almost 13 years ago). I broke it out of storage last year but only did it two or three times because of space considerations in the house I'm in now. I also took some classes at the Y last year, but they were not the same caliber as the video. I wish I had a basement or the space in the garage to do step regularly.

i workout in my garage so i have to do cardio at home as well. i use a stationary bike for about 20 to 30 min but i prefer to jump rope because it doesnt take long just 10 to 15 min and because im pretty good at. jumping rope is one of the best exercise u can do for cardio builds great endurance and burns fat. when i jump rope i do it in intervals, three min jump rope then rest for 30-60 sec and repeat, i do three or four intervals. this will really get ur heart pumping.

Back in high school a female friend talked me into taking an aerobics class with her. The school only offered the class two periods, and I was the only guy out of both classes. Needless to say, it took the girls a bit to get used to me, and all of the jocks in the locker room had their little digs at me, but that semester ended with me being in the best cardiovascular shape I have ever been in, and I really limbered up. One of the requirements was that each of us had to pick a song and choreograph a workout around it. I chose "You've Got Another Thing Coming" by Judas Priest, and it went over really well (This WAS 1986, after all). At the beginning of the class I couldn't touch my toes without feeling every fiber in the back of my legs pulling HARD, but at the end I could stand on a little stool, and fold myself completely in half without any strain whatsoever, and rest my palms on the floor. I could also sit on the floor with my legs out in a 90 degree "V", and bend all the way down, with my head turned to the side, and rest my cheek on the floor. Yes, I would definitely recommend it. One thing though-this was a high-impact class, now that I think about it.

I've been doing step aerobics since the late 80's. It's really enjoyable especially if you get a good instructor who knows what they're doing and make the class interesting. And of course the scenery isn't too hard on the eyes either.

I run track and I still use jumping rope for a great cardio exercise!!! The Taebo series is great also!! I have to give credit where credit is due, alot of those "female" classes such as pilates, step aerobics....they are tough!
