Back in high school a female friend talked me into taking an aerobics class with her. The school only offered the class two periods, and I was the only guy out of both classes. Needless to say, it took the girls a bit to get used to me, and all of the jocks in the locker room had their little digs at me, but that semester ended with me being in the best cardiovascular shape I have ever been in, and I really limbered up.
One of the requirements was that each of us had to pick a song and choreograph a workout around it. I chose "You've Got Another Thing Coming" by Judas Priest, and it went over really well (This WAS 1986, after all). At the beginning of the class I couldn't touch my toes without feeling every fiber in the back of my legs pulling HARD, but at the end I could stand on a little stool, and fold myself completely in half without any strain whatsoever, and rest my palms on the floor. I could also sit on the floor with my legs out in a 90 degree "V", and bend all the way down, with my head turned to the side, and rest my cheek on the floor.
Yes, I would definitely recommend it.
One thing though-this was a high-impact class, now that I think about it.
