Hey, I've been interested in fitness for a while, but I have only just started seriously looking at what I eat and what sort of exercise I do.

I have been reading this http://www.freedomfly.net/Documents/FITNESS_EXPOSED_1.0.pdf and found it to be very helpful.  However, I still have some questions about my diet and caloric needs.

Just like the example in the article, my body weight is 194 lbs. so when you times that by 11, it works out to 2134 calories just to remain at my current weight.  Then when you factor in the metabolic factors, I have to add 853.6 calories to the original 2134 calories.  That totals to 2987.6 calories to maintain my current weight, considering my basic body needs and my metabolic factors.

So because I need 2987.6 calories to maintain my current weight, I'm guessing that's because I'm burning 2987.6 calories each day?  Is that correct?

Now for the 2nd part of my question, I'm looking to lose weight.  The article suggests to take 500 calories off, meaning that I would need to be consuming roughly 2500 calories.  So what I'm wondering is does that amount change if I do some exercise on any particular day?  Like I need roughly 3000 calories per day to cover what my body uses (if my interpretation of how that works is correct, as I said above), so if I want to lose weight I need to be consuming roughly 2500.  If I do a workout that burns say 500 calories for example, that would be an extra 500 burnt on top of the original 3000 my body burns in a day, making 3500 calories burned in the day.  So in that case, do I still only need to eat 2500 calories (500 less than the original 3000)?  Or do I have to factor in the 500 calories burned in that exercise (making 3500 when added to the original 3000) and eat 500 less than THAT amount, meaning I would have to eat 3000 calories?

I don't know if that makes sense, but I hope it does and I hope someone can give me some info.  Thanks in advance.
