Can amino acids be used in place of a regular protien supplement? I asume they can't but I was just wondering.

That would be ..........no. First off, you should never try to replace foods with supplements. Supplements are, as the name implies, supplements. To get your daily requirements of every amino acid, that would normally come from other protein sources, would be..........expensive, as amino acids are only viable to the body for 3 hour increments, approximately. Most AA supplements try to give you large doses to last you the day, when in actuallity you need very little at a time, but need them to be resupplied constantly, as there is no storage mechanism in the body for excess amino acids, like there is for carbs (glycogen) and fats. Food comes first, then more complete supplements, and last resort specialty supplements. Just like the exercises. compound first, then isolation if needed.
