Whoa I just checked carbs for an apple.  The size I eat I believe is medium and it says 20 G of carbs.  I'de have to eat nearly 2 Apples before and 3.5 After!  5.5 Apples ?!  Seems a bit much, is this true?  I cant imagine how many grapes I'de have to eat !

Oh well Im off to go workout, and I dont have 5 apples, I only have four so I decided to have 1 before with some oatmeal and 3 after.  Hopefully this will work.

Juice is usually 8 ounces and 12 ounces and is quite efficient.

Apples are low in calories.  Oatmeal is not a great idea before.

So is that how much amount of veggies I need per meal, a cup?

Its a good amount.

So all of the starchy carbohydrates you listed are the best of the best?

They are some examples

I noticed sweet potatoes are high in sugar a while ago, does that mean not to eat them before going to bed for a source of carbs?

I said avoid processed carbs.  If you eat a whole food with moderate sugar with a supportive meal it is no problem.

Also, is tuna alright even though it may have mercury?  Because its only 65 cents where I live.

Once or twice a week.

Do I HAVE to make different meal plans to support growth.

Not really.  But it helps the body if you do have a little variety over time, especially around foods that are higher in allergens (like eggs).

I switch bits and pieces of my diet seasonally and with every new training cycle.  I just took a week off and will come back for the next 8-12 weeks with a new plan.  but I will rotate veggies and fruits, carbs and proteins a bit here and there.

Alright, Im having a bit of a struggle financially supporting my hobby though because if I need a whole protein for each meal... 5 meals a day.  Thats like 5-8 dollars a day of food, not including carbs and veggies.  Right now Im stuck with eating oatmeal, cashews and protein shakes until I can get more food.    Is there any way to make it less expensive?

dan whats your supplmeneting look like when u take your bcaa?

Pre and post cardio I take 5grams BCAA.  Period.

When training, I will have a banana (actually 1.5 bananas) and 5 g BCAA before.
I have low carb tolerance, and so they can make me get fat fast!

Post I take 5g BCAA.  If I will not be eating immediatly, I also consume 1.5 bananas.

At the moment my gains are such that I am not wanting to use any other sups (creatine, glutamine, theonine etc... (cortisol blockers))

I eat within 45 minutes of the sessassation of training and that meal is usually 40g protein, 80g carbs, + fat

Ahhh, the budget bodybuilder!

OK, I have done this.  I usually get a 99c/lb turkey and roast it...seperate it into 4 packs...10 pound turey lasts a month for 10 dollars. (30c per serving+-)

Oatmeal in bulk/organic is cheap
Rice in bulk is CHEEEP
A bag of potato is cheep
A chicken will last you 5 days or so for 3$ (60c per serving)
The best deal on fruit or juice...judge by carbs per the dollar!
The 3-4 dozen egg cartons are cheap!
The bargain vegetable...cauliflower or broccoli and such

Meals
Egg/Oatmeal
Turkey/rice/vegie
Chicken/potato/veggie
Intersperse with 3 meal replacements (not protein shakes) at roughly 70c-80c per

Daily cost - 5-6$ give or take

Okay, thanks... And for fat?  Probably just cashews or other nuts, usually not TOO expensive.  Thanks for the suggestion I will go grocery shopping soon.

Okay I went out and got some food.  Instead of chicken breast I got whole chicken (much cheaper) so I took off the skin in hopes that would reduce the estimated 15 G Fat.  If I tak eoff the skin will that make the protein a lot lower or should it be relativly the same protein and less fat?

Sweet, so how much fat would still be left on it if it was skinless?  I figured for an 8 oz chicken it was something like this...
32 G Protein
10 G Fat

I wasnt sure, eventhough I got off all the skin I assumed there would still be some fat in it.  I feel I am now well on my way to getting great results.  I have an array of meal plans, a workout plan, and the determanation.  My only problem, however, is I cant find a place nearby that sells calipers!  Can you only buy them online?  Thank you.

Here is the best price I have found to date for professional quality, cheap calipers:
skinfold Calipers <--- link to place on amazon where it is cheapest (go for the 17.99 ones which are the best shipped price)

That is about right for the calories of the skinless chicken except for the breast.

How much is a serving of brocolli?  I bought some fresh stocks of brocolli but I have no clue how much I should eat for each meal.
