All star trainer's secrets

I very recently read both volumes of this very interesting e-book about how to lose the most amount of fat and gain the most amount of muscle in thirty days- The whole premise was this. Author Lewis Wolk asked a bunch of leading internet fitness experts how they would go about gaining the most amount of muscle while losing the most amount of fat in thirty days- A tough question, especially for people who know what they're talking about. Experts such as Tom Venuto, Pete Sisco, Nic Nilsson and Lee Hayward were on hand for the first volume, while Volume two had input from such names as George Stavrou, Jeremy Markum and Mandy Gibbons- As well as other well informed, very thorough fitness authorities. Plenty of the people who contributed did mention that it was a thought provoking task in their introduction, others simply got on with the job at hand- Overall, everyone had some interesting stuff to say that anyone with an interest in fitness should read.

Before reading this e-book, everyone should know why the question's a doozy- In order to lose fat, we need to eat less calories than our bodies need to retain their current weight, and in order to gain muscle, we need to eat more calories- The whole reason behind bulking and cutting cycles, which are generally thought to be the most effective means of each goal- Bulk to gain muscle, cut to lose fat. This e-book asks the question, if the pros HAD TO come up with a thirty day program that chased both goals, how would they go about it? Their answers made for some interesting reading, along with a wealth of general fitness information.

Both volumes are broken down into chapters- There's the intro stuff of course, which outlines the question itself and the goal of the book, then some info on the contributors, and then we get to the meat and potatoes. Each person is given an entire chapter to instruct the reader how they would go about reaching the goal of the book. While there was no set template they all had to follow, every single one of them discussed nutrition, training and rest in great detail- And if you thought the seperate cycles of bulking and cutting required a lot of work, you'll be amazed at the calorie and ingredient tracking contained in some of those chapters. These people really know their stuff, and they lay it all out for you in terms that are easy to read and understand. Anyone who feels the need to learn more about nutrition in general should definitely give both volumes a good read. Of course, the same goes for training- There were many, many great points and ideas in both volumes when it came to setting up an exercise plan.

Generally speaking, my opinion of the books was that they are very helpful- Anyone who's just starting out and would like to do a little bit of fat loss and muscle gain should seriously consider getting their hands on this. Reading them as a non-beginner who had no desire to try a thirty day fat loss/muscle gain program, I still came away with some new perspective, training ideas and diet plans- With so many different experts' opinions contained in two volumes of one book, I think it would be hard for even the most experienced to read through the whole thing without learning something new. Sure, a lot of the stuff was similar- As with any fitness program, each contributor went into detail when it came to diet, training and rest- But we all know those three things are the keys to success no matter what your goals are. It's in the details that each person showed their unique approach to the problem. With so much info on the same subject matter- Different meal plans, workout plans, etc- I found myself flipping back and forth through the pages to make sure I was getting everything down. This is definitely something I'll be re-reading many times to come, just to make sure I get it all.

The one major thing I disagreed with was one of the expert's advice when it came to bulking- Eat everything in sight. Junk food, McDonald's, whatever, just eat it. I know this book was written with the thirty day rule in mind, and yes, I'm sure that eating everything in sight while training hard and resting right would actually put some size on you in that time- But I just can't agree with that method for so many reasons.
One major thing I'll be taking away from the book is a training method I'm itching to try out- An interesting method of building muscle by using weights I'd never be able to lift with full range of motion.

Of course, I had other minor differences of opinion with some of the things said in the book, and I've also learned a lot more than just that training method, but I'm not about to re-write the whole thing here.

All in all, both volumes are definitely worth reading, and I find myself wondering if the author has any plans to ask these people any more tough questions.

Pete Sisco's SCT.. static contraction training.

I know. Thinking about that program myself actually.

For those who are interested...

* You can get the AllStarSecrets book here

* You can't really get screwed as the guarantee is pretty rock solid.

* I suggest that you get a 3 ring binder and print this out. It's something you'll take to the gym and read frequently.
