Ahhh...confused - Tuesday, April 10, 2007 5:13 PM
Ive heard a couple different opinions on when to take my Whey Protein. If im trying to get leaner and get a better set of abs, should i take it before a work out, after, or both (and how much)?

i would say after.. because u dont want to workout and burn off the whey protein source you took before workout... u wanna workout on an empty stomach so u can burn your fat source. IMO.. i would take it after only

There will be all kinds of answers buddy. Best way is trial and error really. I personally dont drink protein drinks, I do take Xtend and mix it in with Nectar (a whey protein from syntrax) both lemonade flavor, and drink it WHILE i workout. Really helps with recovery and prevents muscle loss.

I take 50g of Whey Isolate post workout since it is fast acting.  But your quest for getting leaner is going to require alot more than just when to take your whey.  Give us a run down of your diet and training

My training days consist of 3 whey shakes.  One serving first thing when I get up, one serving 30 minutes pre-workout, and 2 servings within 30 minutes post-workout.
one serving is between 17 and 24 grams, depending on which brand I choose.  I use ON, Kaizen, EAS, and Ultimate Nutrition currently.  Why so many different choices, one is chocolate, one is vanilla ice cream, one is double chocolate, and one is very berry blast.
