RE: Ahh, getting fed up~ - Tuesday, May 11, 2004 2:59 PM ( #31 )
Another question...I checked my caloric intake, its around 2000, so is it ok for me to take in 1400-1500? Or is that too little? i weigh 150, and I work out about 4-6 times a week...if someone can help me out, Id appreciate it! I dont want to cut too much and end up not losing anything. Also, can I alternate HIIT and Guerilla? Or is that too much? I am planning on doing cardio 6 days a week, HIIT on M, W, F. On T, Th, S, should I do just moderate cardio, or can I alternate the two?
How is this diet looking for today?

Bowl of Multigrain chex (im broke, sorry) with 1.5 c of skim milk = 320
Nanner 100
Bowl of grapes 340
Peanuts 300
Cottage cheese w/pinneapple 200
Tuna sandwich with slice of white american 400

about 1600..
im nervous because I have never eaten that many calories in my life.. I dont want to be eating too many. I dont know if it matter either...Im really nervous about being overweight in my life..my whole family is over weight and I have had to work my ass off thus far, I dont want to go backwards!!
sorry for the millions of questions, but thank you all for all your help!!

Like I posted earlier, it looks like with your cardio, you should be burning about 2200 kcal/day. And so, provided you are eating properly, if you take in about 1600-1800 kcal per day you ought to be dropping about a pound a week.

You should be able to alternate the guerilla and HIIT cardio if, well, you can. You just want to make sure you're not overtraining.

The diet you posted today still needs more protein -- try to get some with every meal.

Get some Whey Protein powder and mix a scoop with some oatmeal in the morning. Much better breakfast than the chex cereal and milk. Also, have a shake after you workout. That'll help get you 40-50 more grams of protein in per day. You're diet is pretty light on veggies, try to add some of those in. A baked chicken breast and some steamed broccoli (from frozen even) is an easy, quick, healthy meal. You can even bake a couple chicken breasts at a time and then nuke them when you are in a hurry, or use them in a salad.

You also seem to be kind of low on good fats like fish, flax, and olive oil. You're getting some from the peanut butter and occasional nuts, but other than that it's pretty much all from dairy. At the very least you should pick up some fish oil capsules and supplement with them. I'm guessing 10-15 grams of fish oil per day would be good... Twin Peak, if you're listening, what's a good amount for a 150 pound woman?

As I stated previously, it depends on one's genetic makeup, but the amount does not need to vary much based on weight.
