Advice please - Abs and Protein - Tuesday, February 28, 2006 8:56 AM
I have questions about my abs, i can see them and feel them on the surface of my body but wen i push them they are quite soft and go into my stomach. When i tense them they can great definition and are hard. How do i get them to be so when im relaxed? I can't do the ab training suggested by 8pack as i neither have the equipment at home nor at my gym :|

Protein shakes, at the moment i dont have a source of protein for after i work out. I have only started a couple weeks so i am still learning, but i need a protein intake after my work out. I have a low budget i was wondering if you can recommend any that are quite cheap and with quite a few servings?

even if you can see your abs when you are relaxed...you will be able to push them in cuz the are soft when not contracted...its a muscle remember

As Marco said- Any muscle, when relaxed, is going to be soft. That's what flexing's all about- When a muscle is flexed, it's hard. Relaxed, it's not- Believe me, when you see pics of models or whoever with a nice six pack going on, they're tensing their abs. Maybe not flexing them fully, but definitely tensing. When someone with a nice set of abs relaxes them, it looks like they have a gut too- Because the muscles relax, the intestines push against the soft muscles, and there you go- Insta gut. It only takes a little tension to get the abs nice and flat and somewhat, which is how guys can walk around with a six pack with apparently no effort. I do it myself, to be honest.

my freinds little bro dropped all his BF% by playing PS2 and not eating, he got a 6 pack at about 8 years old. but he never flexed it, his BF was just so low you oculd see it.
