Hit her with this:

"A little extra money for clean food and supplements costs a lot less today than a lifetime of cholesterol meds and escalating health care bills later."

if reason and logic don't work, you could lay on the guilt:

"Gee Mum, I didn't realize you dispised me so much that you want me to be a skinny kid who gets picked on and laughed at by all the big guys at school.  Why do you want your boy to grow up miserable and depressed?"

All else fails, just eat every damned thing she puts in the fridge.  She'll have no choice but to stock it back up again.  In the long run, don't worry about it.  You still have plenty of puberty left to make serious gains when you are old enough to get a job and start buying your own supps and help out with the groceries.  Don't give up completely.

well if cost is a problem, buy GENERIC brands! for example, instead of buying Smuckers All Natural PB or some other major brand, buy the store's generic brand of natural PB. The generic products will cost less cuz the store wants you to buy their brand over the major brands, and the ingredients are almost identical! The same food for less!

tell your family they should turn their lives around with you and drop all the junk food i like to think of junk food as wood chips covered in lard its only bad for you and the money you save from going cold turkey from them you could afford to buy some of the better healthy stuff or more of it and just keep nagging them constantly about their diets

I used my lunch money to buy tuna ($0.50/can) and eggs ($1.00/carton) and lunch meats too. Negotiate. Show her you are dedicated. Plus like someone else said at your age/metabolism you could eat whole loaves of bread and make gains so just eat every thing you can find that's semi healthy until she breaks down. Tell her it would just be cheaper to buy you what you want than you eat everything in the house.

Join costco and buy some bulk items, very inexpensive. I pay $5.50 for huge box of oatmeal that has 102 servings of 150 calories. Thats 15,000 solid carbs for under $6. It lasts me awhile too. Stock up on canned tuna as well if you eat that. It comes to less than $.50 per can for 30 grams of protein. Bread and rice are also cheap too. For around $20, you can get a big bag of chicken breasts that should last you a week for your size and eating needs. Maybe just ask your mom how much you are allowed to spend a week on food and then make your list from there. I know it sounds crazy, but I can eat almost 6000 calories for around $10-$12 a day. A little more if you add supplements in, which is just whey protein and cassein.

Wow really?  Out here in BC you can get a job easy, on the job training no less than 20 buck per hour in trades and construction, demolition, even maybe the city because of the 2010 coming, they are doing tons of work and private sector pays more and are so desperate the have NOW HIRING signs on the work trucks!  They offer union, benefits like med/dent............I guess it depends on your location and what you are willing to do for a job.  Labour work is not as hard as it seems.  If I were not a trainer I would be on a jobsite for sure!!!!
I know a lady who is 50 working for the city on the job doing cement, sidewalks, ramps shoveling......you name it!!  She drives big work trucks too..............too bad you don't live in Vancouver.............I assume you don't.
Oh and age is no issue out here either, even if you say you have only 2 months open for work, they will take you and train you with pay for that 2 months you can supply - they need workers.

errrm...

Growing up in a very non rich family, i think some of the responses here are just terrible.

Some people work hard for **** money, and cant afford food barely.
Thats my situation, i have to buy all my own food, because after bills my mum isnt left enough to buy any food hardly, literally like £30, for a whole month, (thats $60 )

So don't guilt trip her, or make her buy food.

Wait until youre older, and just get your own food, sometimes **** happens and people are poor, its just the flip of the coin, deal with it later when youre more capable.

yup completly agree. Were not exactly rolling in it so to speak and you gotta think, having big muscles isnt a priority to be quite honest, you gotta appriciate how much ur mum and dad do for you keeping a roof over your head and all the essentials now if your stocking up on loads and loads of **** well then you can expect to ask for a slight change. Just try get real needs like eggs, oatmeal, tuna etc. All of this stuff is really cheap any way, but like twisted said IMO the guilt trip isnt needed.
