I'm at it again. Going to try the European loop style from APT

Thoughts:

Poloyester or Cotton? Cotton holds up to 700 lbs on the 1 and 1/2 loop but the polyester holds up to 1500 with the same dimensions. I'd think the cotton would be more comfortable? And 700 lbs is more then I'm going to do anytime soon.

Let us know how they work out. I have a pair of cotton straps like first ones, but they ended up being hella uncomfortable. They'd always cut into my wrists, even if I wore them over wristbands. I ended up picking up this set of straps with cuffs and dowels, and they are much more comfortable.

Marc, I use these when I need to.

http://www.affordablesupplements.com/straps.asp

They ones that I have are the neopreme ones with the 11 inch strap. Not sure about the locking dowel ones but they look interesting.

They are slightly clunky getting them wrapped around the bar but once there they do a pretty good job of assisting my grip without putting all the weight on my wrists. I don't think that they would work too well with using DBs but I use them regularly when I do BB shrugs with 350+. Only about 20 for the pair, you might want to take a look at them.

That's what I like about the dowel style, you just fold the strap under the bar and tuck the dowel into your palm. No muss, no fuss... it's pretty much just grip and go.

Bump.

So how are they holding up, MDA? Comfortable?

Comfy yes.

Durable yes.

But sadly, I just have to go with what Twin Peak has said for a while. Don't need straps. These seem to work on a barbell. But dumbbells were questionable for me.

Honestly, the only exercises I needed straps on were shrugs. And I opted to use hand grippers to strengthen my grip. I was able to do the 110 lb dumbbells for a good 8 reps yesterday without any straps.

I'm keeping these in my gym bag and I'll probably use them again. I just need a progressive load workout where I really need the help. With the recent hyper-adaptive workouts, I don't need to go to failure so I've not picked up weight beyond what I can handle.

My review of this isn't final yet.
