I guess the number one thing is refueling your body with the nutrients it just lost. Id like to know what other people do as well, but I have found that the best recovery coctail I have found is to take a small teaspoon of Glutamine with two caps of BCAA's and also a small teaspoon of Creatine about fifteen to thirty minutes before working out. As well as the same amounts emediately after your workout. I mix my Post-Workout supps with a good Post-Workout drink with lots of Carbs and all the sugars you need. Depending on your weight and all that, you could try to even take half that amount before and after and see what it does for you. At the very least you should probably try a post-workout shake or the pre-mixed versions. Everybody is affraid of Carbs (Including myself... especially late at night), but from what I understand emediately after your workout is when your body can take in the most Carbs. They will defientely help speed recovery up big time. As far as brands for the Glutamine/BCAA's/Creatine... I just get the cheap stuff for Glutamine and BCAA's like Optimum and I like the TRAC my MHP for Creatine (Not cheap, but Sugar free). All of what I mentioned does take a little planning, getting the right amounts, mixing it up and all that... but I think it's worth it big time for less soreness and faster recovery. I am curious what else you find out that helps you, because my fiancee has really started to work out hard and she is telling me the soreness is really bad... she currently refuses to try Glutamine or anything though.

Get some extra sleep.. it will help... a bit. My shoulders are perpetually sore between working out and gymnastics.... but when i workout i say to myself "Clive shut up and PUSH!... oh and by the way.. stop talkin to urself" Oh i've found tribulus helping me a bit. when i stopped trib i actually felt weaker... maybe its a placebo effect?

We already rocked that a year or two back. I don't get into arguments/debates on glutamine anymore. End of the day, i can say not to spend money on it, but most are going to anyway, so it's not my problem to get worked up about it.

There are always mixed reviews on L-Glutamine but, I use it all the time. I've mentioned this on other posts that prior to L-G my 3 day splits w/recovery would take 9 days. I started taking L-G 3xper day for 4 straight weeks. My 3 day splits actually became 3 day splits, 1 day recovery instead of 2. But that's just me. Some people may not respond to L-G as I do. Peace

This might be just a fluke, but it seems like taking some creatine right after working out has helped reduce my muscle soreness. I used to only take creatine prior to working out. I would usually be sore on the second and third days to some degree. I switched my creatine to V12 (great stuff) and it said take it right before working out and after... since doing that I barely get sore it seems, even If I work out to failure -which I usually do. *** Oh yeah, Timhull... didn't you hear? OJ does massouse work now for spare change - he's talented, killer hands!
