AHH Enough with The Protein - Monday, February 13, 2006 5:02 PM
I've had enough of protein, I've tried all the "good" whey protein and they are terrible.  If i don't feel like im gonna puke after drinking it I'm stuck in the bathroom all day ****ting my brains out while my stomach is in knots.  I've researched and the only other alternative I could find close to whey protein was an amino acid booster.  Anyone now of any other good sources of protein other than the disgusting powder?

Which ones have you tried?

Are you lactose intolerant?

Whey protein concentrait can cause some digestion problems.  Do some research on Whey protein isolate. You wont have the digestion problems with isolate.

I am lactose intolerant so I mix them with water.  I can tolerate the stomach pains and stuff its just that I only take about one shake a day which is about 60 grams of protein and it just doesn't seem like its worth the trouble.  I don't have time to make a good shake in the blender either b/c I'm always on the run.  I was thinking about trying this Amino Acid 2222 Liquid 22 grams of protein in 4tbls isn't bad at all.

You might be taking to much of it. There was a point where I took tons of that crap a day and with milk. Ya you will be in the bathroom all day because your body cant use it all. So i decided to mix it with water and thats alot better for me.
 
I now take it with milk. On 100% Whey, anywhere from 2 to 4 scoops a day. 2 scoops and 2 cups of milk. And then i add a bit of sugar to make it sweet. then it tases just liek a shake you would want to buy at the store. But you do get sick of taking it over and over everyday.
 
You might be taking to much that your body cant handle it all.

I get a lot of my protein from oatmeal, as well as milk, meat, and whey.
Squat 385, Bench 235, Deadlift 450 @ 181.

try the myoplex shakes. you have to blend them but they taste good and have 42 grams of protien

Which protein product gives you the most protein with out putting mass on. The reason why I ask that is because I know there are proteins out there that also put mass on. I dont need that kind of protein.

there are proteins out there for lactose intolerant people
 
lok for one that has lactase in it....lactase is an enzyme that help your body difest the lactose in milk
 
isopure has a lactose intolerant protein

Soy protein isnt the solution as there are no positive muscle benefits from soy protein.

Look into Isolate and split is up into smaller shakes.  A good amount for 1 shake is around 20-30g per serving.  Get away from concentrait if you are lactose intolerant.

How much protein are you talking about in a high protein diet.  I wouldn't recommend eating an insanely large amount.  Anywhere above 30% of your calorie intake coming from protein is probably too much.  About how many calories are you shooting for a day?
